About Casa Del Arroyo

Casa Del Arroyo is a 4 BR/4.5 BA home with over 5100 sq ft of living space situated in "Gringo Gulch" (part of the Colonia El Centro). Everything is within walking distance, yet far enough from the tourist crowd to be in a relatively quiet area.  You can hear the Cuale River as well as the bells from the Parish of Our Lady of Guadalupe nearby. Tripadvisor ranks the home as 100 out of 100 for walkers, with 130 restaurants, beaches, and 62 attractions within 0.3 miles. It is a 2 minute walk to Elizabeth Taylor's former house, Casa Kimberly which is now an upscale boutique hotel including the well known Iguana Restaurant & Tequila Bar. 

The Neighborhood

The "Gringo Gulch" neighborhood is a mix of Mexican locals and ex-pats, streets are still made of cobblestone, and everyone greets one another. This neighborhood was once THE place to escape to for well known Hollywood stars during the 1960's.  The streets are lined with houses built by the 2 most notable architects of that era (Guillermo Wulff and Freddy Romero) who shaped the look and feel of Puerto Vallarta as it was becoming a budding tourist destination.

You'll feel like you're stepping back in time to a simpler life.

Traditional Architecture with Modern Practicality

With its traditional Mexican and colonial architecture, Casa del Arroyo offers an open design concept. After ascending the grand entrance, you’ll be greeted by a large living and dining area with polished cement floors, exposed wood beam ceilings, and multiple doors and windows for maximum light and enjoyment of the jungle hillside breezes.  This area has flexibility in its furniture arrangement to provide a space for workouts or a space for creativity, collaboration, and connection.

Blending Indoor & Outdoor Living

Adjacent to the living area on the first level you will find a fully equipped kitchen overlooking the open-air, center courtyard framed by the exposed rock wall and its traditional cantera stone fountain. Fresh air is abundant in this space.  Downpours during the summer rainy season create a unique ambiance as you feel connected to nature, while at the same time protected from the elements.

For guest convenience, there is a "powder room" on this level with beautifully hand painted tiles.

Mountain, River, & City Views from the Terrace

The second floor is also equipped with an outdoor kitchen & bar with colorful mosaic tiles ideal for barbequing and reunions. Next to the heated and raised dipping pool, there is an outdoor shower and a large 1400 square foot partially covered terrace, where you can rest during the sunny days and warm nights to enjoy the beautiful panoramic views of Puerto Vallarta. You'll also see and hear the Rio Cuale from Casa del Arroyo and understand why its translated name "Creek House" rings true.

Second Floor Bedrooms

The second floor offers two king sized en-suite bedrooms with accents such as Mexican tile work, ceramic and marble sinks, tumbled marble and transom primavera wood windows. Air conditioning, primavera wood doors and screens are installed for climate efficiency and comfort. 

Third Floor Bedrooms

On the top floor there are two additional bedrooms with high ceilings and panoramic views. The first is a king sized en-suite bedroom with steps that go directly down to the second floor pool. The second is a master king sized en-suite bedroom that has its own private terrace, with a bathroom featuring a double-head shower and Jacuzzi tub.

We welcome you as you will be able to focus, recharge, and reconnect with others and yourself.  The space and location lends itself to being able to get you out of your "rut" and bring fresh perspective as you are surrounded by the vibrant scenery and Mexican culture.

Whatever is on your Retreat/Event calendar, you will be able to both relax within Casa del Arroyo or enjoy the sights and sounds of Puerto Vallarta within minutes of the house.  

Take a stroll to the beach, step inside the nearby art galleries, eat at some of the most highly rated restaurants, and/or enjoy Puerto Vallarta's unique Isla Cuale greenspace, all within a short walking distance.
